Partnership with Bray Wanderers Football Club

Greystones United A.F.C. in Partnership with Bray Wanderers Football Club

In 2022, Greystones United AFC entered into a partnership with Bray Wanderers Football Club for the Women’s League of Ireland. The club had held a Women’s LOI licence since the Leagues inception in 2018. This collaboration has further strengthened our commitment to providing elite-level opportunities for girls and young women in football.

Through this partnership, we currently field U17 and U19 teams in the Women’s League of Ireland - managed by Derek Ashmore (U17) and Allan O’Kearney (U19) - offering a clear and competitive platform for talented female players to progress.

We also run a Bray Wanderers & Greystones United Girls Academy, which serves as a pathway for talented young players aiming to reach League of Ireland standards. This short-term program is led by our U17 League of Ireland coaches and provides coaching sessions while introducing players to the expectations and demands of top-tier football - effectively bridging the gap between grassroots and elite levels.

Our Board Director for the Women’s Academy, Michelle Healy, plays a vital role in overseeing the development and continued success of our female pathways.

The partnership with Bray Wanderers Football Club was extended to our schoolboys’ programs in 2024 creating a structured pathway from grassroots to national competition for boys as well.

Together with Bray Wanderers Football Club, we are building an Elite LOI environment for players in the Wicklow, South Dublin area which is supporting every player’s journey from the local pitch to the League of Ireland.
