When and where do teams train?

Training schedules vary by age group. You will be contacted by your team’s coach once you register. All training takes place on our grounds in Woodlands.
What leagues do your teams play in?

Our teams compete in the Dublin District Schoolboys/girls League (DDSL), Wicklow District Football League (WDFL), and Leinster Senior League (LSL). We also have two girls teams playing in the League of Ireland through our partnership with Bray Wanderers.
How can I get involved as a volunteer?

We are always looking for volunteers to help. Please contact us at administration@guafc.ie to learn more.

A fantastic way to finish the season for our U13 Major Girls with a fantastic match against Peamount ⚽️👏🏼 After earning promotion by winning Division 1 last season, the girls stepped up two divisions this year and have more than held their own. A huge congratulations to all the players and coaches Marc, Babs and Jill on a brilliant season. Enjoy the well-earned break! ⚽️

Our U13 M1 Girls wrapped up their season with their final match on Sunday. A fantastic season for the girls and coaches Richie and Máire, with plenty of hard work, development, and great memories along the way. What a morning yesterday to wrap up our Sunday Girls Academy with a Girls-Only Mini League! ⚽🏆

Before yesterday’s Over 35s match, players, officials and supporters observed a minute’s silence in memory of Noel Hennessy, who sadly passed away last week. Noel was a valued coach within the club, a teammate, and above all a true gentleman both on and off the pitch. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His number 5 jersey was proudly displayed as a mark of respect, honouring his contribution to the club and the lasting impact he had on so many. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his children Ruby and Asher, and all of his family and friends at this very difficult time. Rest in peace, Noel. 🕊️

What a season it has been for our U14.1 squad! ⚽️ The lads have had a fantastic year, finishing 2nd in the league, just 3 points off the top spot, and securing promotion for next season! 👏🏼🔥 A huge congratulations to all the players and their coaches, Dean and Tim. The Board and everyone at the club would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the family of Doug Archer on his recent passing. Doug played for AFC and later United. In recent years he was a regular in Woodlands with his wife Liz, watching his daughter Ava and sons Callum and Aaron who all played underage for the club. Ava is also a member of our Bray Wanderers U23 WDL squad. We are all thinking of you at this difficult time. May he rest in peace. 🕊️

Monday evening marked the final coaching education session with Lar Mahony ⚽️🙌🏼 Over the past few months, Lar delivered an excellent series of sessions for our coaches, with plenty of valuable learning, ideas and insight taken from each evening. This was a fantastic opportunity for our coaches as we continue to develop, grow and push the club forward together 💪🏻💚 A huge thank you to Lar for his time, support and knowledge. 👏🏼

Football is more than 90 minutes It’s friendships, confidence, community, cold nights under the lights, early mornings, volunteers giving their time and players making memories that last a lifetime. On World Football Day, we celebrate everyone who makes our club what it is. ❤️⚽

Friday night marked the end-of-season wrap for our LSL Sunday Division team, and what a way to close out an absolutely incredible year. This was their first season together as a team and also their first season in senior men’s football. The chemistry and togetherness within this squad is something you don’t see very often. Every single player has come through the club’s underage system, with 90% of the squad still only 19 years of age. Throughout the season, they never stopped supporting each other on the pitch, and that passion, determination, and never-give-up attitude, combined with their footballing quality, was rightly rewarded as they became league champions. 🏆 This isn’t just a talented group, it’s a special one. Champions in their very first senior season, with their best years still firmly ahead of them.

Wicklow Community Climate Action Programme – Successful Grant Application 🌎♻️ The club were delighted to receive confirmation yesterday of its successful grant application to the Wicklow Community Climate Action Programme. We have been awarded €32,413 which will be used to replace the floodlights on our 11 a side all weather from Halogen to LED. We intend to get this work completed in time for the new season in August. The board would like to thank the Greystones Sports Clubs Climate Action Group and in particular Olive Farrell and Mark Costello for their support and guidance. Also a huge thanks to our Sustainability Officer Shane Rockett and our Treasurer Jenny Larkin and Facilities Officer Michael Borre for all the work that went into the application process which included an energy audit, preparation and review of the grant application and participation and engagement in the Sports Club Climate Action Group. LEDs consume up to 80% less energy and it will deliver massive cost savings for us in terms of running costs and ongoing maintenance. The running cost at the moment for our halogen floodlights is around €40 per hour which will be reduced to €5 per hour with the new LEDs. The new floodlights will also reduce the club’s greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 7 tonnes of CO2e annually, representing approximately 75% of our electricity related emissions.

🏆 U17 SCHUSTER CUP CHAMPIONS 🏆 Our U17 squad were crowned Schuster Cup champions after a brilliant 1-0 win over @waysidecelticfc in a hugely exciting final. It was a fantastic match from start to finish against a very strong Wayside side, with the game going right into extra minutes. Massive credit to Wayside who never gave up and pushed all the way to the final whistle. Massive congratulations to the entire squad and to coaches Conor, Ger and Ryan on a fantastic achievement. 💪🏻⚽ @ddslgrassroots

🚨 AGM REMINDER 🚨 Our AGM will take place tomorrow, Monday 18th May, at 8pm in the clubhouse in Woodlands. All club members are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

A great evening in the clubhouse on Thursday night for our Gambling Awareness Workshop with former Wrexham player Marc Williams. Marc shared honest and relatable insight into how gambling can quietly become part of football culture, particularly among young people, and the impact it can have before it’s even recognised. A big thank you to Marc for speaking so openly and honestly, Luke for organising the event, and to everyone who attended and supported the evening. 👏🏼👏🏼

Gambling Awareness Workshop 🟢 This Thursday the club is hosting a Gambling Awareness workshop delivered by former Wrexham player Marc Williams. 🗓️ Thursday, 14th May ⏰ 7pm - 8pm 📍Woodlands This is not a lecture. It’s an honest and relatable conversation about how gambling can quietly become part of football culture, the rise of teen gambling, and the impact it can have before people even realise it. A fantastic result for our U11 Girls on Sunday as they book their place in the Cup Final after an incredible battle against Firhouse Clover FC ⚽️ Extra time, penalties and then a golden goal to win it… A brilliant team effort and fully deserved. On to the final 🏆🔥

Our Senior LSL 3Aside wrapped up their season on Sunday with a brilliant 5-0 win away to Edenderry Town ⚽️ An incredible finish to what’s been a standout first season together for this group. Every one of these lads has come up through our underage teams and represents the local heart of the club 💚 Massive credit to the squad and coaches for the work, commitment and pride shown all season 💪🏻

Everyone at Greystones United AFC would like to pass on our condolences to the family of Carmel White. Carmel’s son, Derek, has been a coach with our club for many years and is currently assisting with our Over 35s. We are very saddened to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace.

What a weekend for our U11.11 boys! ⚽️ They kicked things off with a great match against Granada on Saturday morning, followed by a well-earned night away in Kilkenny. They were back at it again yesterday with a friendly in Kilkenny against @freebooters Plenty of tired legs (and parents 😅) by the end of it, but a brilliant trip full of football, fun and great memories 👏🏻💚
